If you’ve been checking the calendar since August, you’ll notice that October 1st has passed and the statute of limitations on spooky season is officially over. Before Halloween night, be sure to get everyone a checkup at the dentist before the sugar fest begins. After that, it’s time for costumes!
If you’re fresh out of ideas and want something to accentuate your smile, then continue reading for some fun costumes that will bring out your best.
Tooth Fairy
A classic and not too cliché. The tooth fairy is the symbol of child commerce. To begin, you’ll need to wear a blazer and some slacks with nice shoes that are good for walking. Find some fairy wings at your local costume retailer and then carry around two bags.
One bag should be labeled “teeth” and the other “money.” The more business-like you appear, the better this look pays off. Accent with aviators, a shiny wristwatch, a classy tie, and a modern hairstyle that screams “business.”
The Grinums Family
If you’ve got an itch for puns that must be scratched and you have an entire family you must drag into it, then this is the costume idea for you. This is a set of three costumes with a dental twist on The Addams Family.
Wednesday Appointment Grinums – The perfect outfit for a teenager who really isn’t into this. Let them wear black clothes along with dark eye shadow and lipstick.
Then, adorn their bracelets, necklaces, and maybe even a bone-white scrunchie with little plastic teeth. This will really sell the “goth” look and add an element of oddity.
Gomez Grinums – A dapper man with purple scrubs that have been painstakingly pinstriped with a black permanent marker.
Add in a black surgical cap, a pair of white gloves, and a surgical mask sporting a swarthy mustache and you’ve got the perfect dashing Grinums patriarch, cara mia!
Porcelaia Grinums – Perfect for a refined and elegant woman in the family. This costume plays off the porcelain that is found in many dental restorations like crowns. Start with a long black dress and white tooth accessories like Wednesday but make them longer.
For the piece de resistance, paint the bottom half of a 2-liter soda bottle white and put it on your head so that it looks like a porcelain crown.
You may have to cut it to fit, in which case, use some craft foam to connect the two halves together. Bonus points if it’s a slightly different color to look like a filling.
Class Clown
If a big tooth-themed project isn’t for you, you could go for something tried-and-true. As a class clown, you’ll want to wear bright-colored clothes. The more neon, the better.
Follow a YouTube tutorial to paint your face like a clown and then find a backpack to wear that really speaks to you. Remember to smile and tell your best jokes! That is the job of a class clown.
Halloween is all about a spirit of mischief and fun, and these tooth-themed costumes bring a unique and playful twist to the celebration. So, get ready to flash those pearly whites and spread some dental delight as you join the Halloween festivities with these creative outfits.
